Sheffield Wednesday are reportedly working on a permanent deal for Vitoria de Setubal defender Frederico Venancio.
The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at Hillsborough, making 25 appearances for the Owls.
According to The Star, Vitoria are willing to sell the centre-back for £800,000 and Wednesday have held discussions over a long-term deal for Venancio.
The report adds that Venancio would prefer to join Wednesday on a permanent deal, although several Championship clubs are also monitoring the Portuguese player.
Venancio scored for Wednesday in a 5-1 thumping to Norwich City in May.
