There are nine FA Cup showdowns taking place at 3pm today - including one all-Premier League clash between Southampton and Watford - while the promotion and relegation pictures could also change in the Championship with eight teams in action.

As you can see, there is plenty to get through before kickoff in just under half an hour's time, but first let me bring you news from the early kickoff, which saw Leicester take on Peterborough at the ABAX Stadium.

The Premier League outfit managed to avoid an upset in that match, with Kelechi Iheanacho and Fousseni Diabate both scoring twice in a 5-1 win for the Foxes. They are safely into the fifth round.

The only Premier League kickoff taking place at 3pm today sees two out-of-form teams go head to head, with Southampton having won just one of their last 12 matches across all competitions and Watford with only one more win than that over the same period.

The match will be new Watford manager Javi Gracia's first in charge following the shock sacking of Marco Silva last weekend, and his first task will be to end the Hornet's five-match losing streak on the road - a dreadful run which stretches back to November.

Both teams may be forgiven for having one eye on Premier League duties rather than the FA Cup, though, with Southampton having slipped into the relegation zone and Watford only four points clear of danger, despite sitting in the relatively lofty position of 10th.

Both teams beat Championship opposition in the third round, but Southampton have been eliminated from four of their last five fourth-round ties in this competition, while they have lost each of their last five FA Cup home games against Premier League opposition.

Perhaps the best chance of a giant-killing this afternoon comes at the DW Stadium, where League One leaders Wigan host Premier League side West Ham United.

Wigan are unbeaten since November 18 - a run of 14 matches in all competitions which includes a 3-0 triumph over Bournemouth here in a third-round replay, while they have also kept six clean sheets in their last seven home games. Add to that the fact that they have won six of their last seven FA Cup ties against Premier League opposition and West Ham seem to have a difficult task on their hands.

The Hammers are unbeaten in seven matches themselves, though, stretching back to before Christmas. They have also progressed from 14 of their last 15 FA Cup ties against lower-league opposition while in the Premier League themselves, although they needed extra time in a replay to squeeze past Wigan's fellow League One high-fliers Shrewsbury Town in the last round.

Championship strugglers Birmingham will also be looking to pull off an upset at the John Smith's Stadium, taking on a Huddersfield side whose only win in their last seven outings across all competitions was the third-round triumph over Bolton.

The Terriers have not reached the fifth round in successive seasons since 1938-39, but they take on an improving Birmingham side which has only lost one of their last five games despite their lowly league position of 23rd in the Championship.

Another Championship vs. Premier League takes place at the Riverside, and this one has perhaps more potential for an upset as Boro - eighth in the Champions - take on Brighton, who are just one point from safety in the Premier League.

The Seagulls have only won two of their last 14 games across all competitions and have failed to even score in their last six away games stretching back to November 4. Boro, by contrast, have won five of their last seven games.

The biggest upset of the day could come in this match as League Two promotion hopefuls Notts County host bottom-of-the-Premier-League Swansea City.

However, the Swans have only lost once since Carlos Carvalhal's appointment in late December and stunned in-form Liverpool on Monday night, whereas Notts County are winless in their last three games since beating Championship side Brentford in the third round.

Hull currently sit 21st in the Championship and have only won one of their last eight, so they would need to upset the formbook if they are to eliminate a Nottingham Forest side that beat league leaders Wolves last weekend.

Sheffield United, meanwhile, sit in the final playoff place but have only won one of their last six games at home, whereas 11th-placed Preston have lost just one of their last 13 outing in all competitions.

Championship Millwall also host League One Rochdale looking to extend their unbeaten home run to eight games against a side which has lost five of their last six games.

Championship leaders Wolves will be looking to return to winning ways having fallen to their first league defeat since October last time out, and they have not lost back-to-back league games since April 2017.

It is now four games without a win for the stuttering promotion favourites, but they take on a mid-table Ipswich team which has only won one of their last seven outings in all competitions.

Bristol City must get over the disappointment of their valiant EFL Cup semi-final exit at the hands of Manchester City, with their current form threatening to derail their promotion push. The Robins still sit fifth in the last, but they have lost six and won none of their last seven games across all competitions including only one point from their last four Champions outings.

QPR are not in great form themselves, though, having won just three of their 13 league games since the end of October.

Fulham could climb into the playoff places this afternoon with Sheffield United in FA Cup action, and the Cottagers will be fancied to get the win at Barnsley. Fulham have won five and lost none of their last six league games, including a 6-0 drubbing of Burton Albion last week.

Barnsley, meanwhile, are just two points clear of the relegation zone following a run of just one win from their last 14 outings in all competitions.

Brentford can also close the gap on the playoff places this afternoon, with only three points separating them from the top six as they welcome Norwich City. The Bees have lost just one of their last seven league games and have won five of the last six, so they are very much the form team heading into the contest.

Norwich have seemingly turned a corner themselves, though, losing just one of their last five Championship games following a run of just one win in 10 before that.

In the Championship, meanwhile, Norwich have put an early dent in the playoff hopes of Brentford courtesy of a fine James Maddison strike.

In League Two, meanwhile, Crawley Town have taken the lead against Accrington, while Colchester have broken the deadlock against Port Vale.

In League One, meanwhile, we could be in for a major upset with Northampton leading promotion hopefuls Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.

Millwall are also ahead against League One strugglers Rochdale, with Jed Wallace converting a penalty for the Lions.

There could be a boost for the Robins from elsewhere, though, as in-form playoff rivals Fulham have fallen behind against Barnsley courtesy of a Liam Lindsay goal.

Elsewhere in League Two, Crawley Town have doubled their lead over promotion hopefuls Accrington, Port Vale have equalised against Colchester and Carlisle and Morecambe lead Forest Green and Mansfield respectively.

In the Championship, meanwhile, 10-man Bristol City have also taken the lead against QPR, with Diedhiou getting the goal...

League One side Wigan are ahead against West Ham at the halfway stage - having also claimed the scalp of Bournemouth in the last round - courtesy of a Will Grigg header. There is still a long way to go, but it could be another giant-killing from the Latics.

One of those - Sheffield United vs. Preston - is the first to get us going again for the second half.

They still trail Wigan by a goal to nil, and there is another shock developing at The Den where Rochdale have come from behind to lead Millwall through a goal from Done - although Cannon is also claiming it after his initial effort was tapped in on the line.

Elsewhere Championship strugglers Birmingham are level with Huddersfield through Lukas Jutkiewicz's deflected drive, while in the Championship Fulham have levelled things up against 10-man Barnsley through Sessegnon.

Notts County of League Two have levelled things up against the Premier League's Swansea City courtesy of Jon Stead's sixth goal in six games so far in 2018, while Coventry - also of League Two - have broken the deadlock against MK Dons through Maxime Biamou.

Elsewhere, Oldham have pulled a goal back against Plymouth and now trail 2-1, while Southampton and Shrewsbury are now level at two goals apiece.

The goal comes from the penalty spot as Billy Sharp - the man to win the spot kick from Clarke - makes no mistake from 12 yards.

Swindon began the day just three points off the playoff places, whereas Crewe are only three clear of the relegation zone, so the visitors will be desperate to hang on here.

Huddersfield, Brighton and Swansea are all currently drawing, whereas 10-man West Ham remain two goals down to Wigan. The only Premier League team to be ahead are Southampton, who still lead Watford by one goal to nil.

Can Forest earn a replay in the closing stages against their Championship rivals?

The magic of the cup is still well and truly alive following a day of upsets in the fourth round, with only two Premier League teams booking their place in the next stage from the 3pm kickoffs.

The Latics beat Bournemouth in the third round and have now claimed another Premier League scalp to make it 15 games without defeat in all competitions, while they have now won seven of their last nine FA Cup ties against Premier League opposition.

The win is made even more impressive by the fact that they are the first team to beat West Ham in eight matches.

Huddersfield were also held to a draw by lower-league opposition, with Championship side Birmingham holding on for a 1-1 scoreline which will see them host the Terriers in a replay too.

Elsewhere Millwall rescued a late draw against League One side Rochdale, while League Two's Coventry pulled off an upset against MK Dons. Hull and Sheffield United won their respective all-Championship showdowns.

Bristol City also regained their form despite playing the vast majority of the match with only 10 men, beating QPR to climb up to fourth. Fulham, meanwhile, overcame Barnsley with two stoppage-time goals to climb into the top six, while Norwich put a dent in Brentford's playoff hopes with a 1-0 win.
