Southampton manager Nigel Adkins has described his side as "exceptional" after their 4-0 win against Watford at St. Mary's.
Goals from Guly do Prado, Lee Holmes, and two penalties by Rickie Lambert secured the win, and have kept the South Coast club top of the Championship.
"Second half was a very good performance, but you have to give credit to Watford because in the first half they made it very hard for us," Adkins told the club's official website.
"We wanted to play football but they had done their homework and made it very challenging for us.
"Credit to our players though because we have adapted our formation in order to get control of the football and in the second half I thought there was some exceptional football played, and we could have scored several more goals."
The Saints are now two points clear at the top of the table after Middlesbrough's goalless draw with Reading.
