Southend United have announced that defender Harry Kyprianou has extended his contract at the club until June 2018 with the option for a further year.
The 19-year-old left-back broke into the first team at the start of the season and scored on his first two Shrimpers appearances, going on to play four times so far this campaign.
Speaking to the club's official website, Kyprianou said: "I'm happy to get it sorted and I'm looking forward to hopefully pushing back into the team and making a difference.
"I'm not going to rest on my previous games, I'm looking to make another push and hopefully I can play some more games and if I'm lucky, score some goals as well.
"Obviously it's difficult having someone like Ben Coker ahead of you but at the same time I have learnt a lot from him and will continue to do so."
Phil Brown's charges sit 16th in the third tier after 16 games.
