A goal from Seydou Doumbia has seen CSKA Moscow head into the break on level terms at 1-1 in their Champions League clash with Sporting Lisbon this evening.
Naldo almost gave the hosts the lead inside the opening minutes, but after connecting with Jefferson's cross, he could only turn the ball over the bar.
However, the hosts did manage to find the net in the 12th minute when Bryan Ruiz latched onto a ball over the top and squared for the unmarked Teofilo Gutierrez to tap in from close range.
CSKA were then given the chance to level the scores as Jefferson brought down Zoran Tosic inside the box and the referee awarded a penalty.
Doumbia stepped up to take the spot kick, but the striker saw his penalty kept out by Rui Patricio.
With five minutes of the first half remaining Doumbia made up for his miss, as he raced onto Roman Eremenko's pass and rounded the keeper, before sliding the ball into the empty net.
