Good evening! Thank you very much for joining
Sports Mole for tonight's
Champions League and Championship action! Two European games are already well underway - indeed, about to kick off for the second half - so let's waste no time in getting stuck in!
There is a HUGE story brewing at the Bernabeu, where
Real Madrid's Champions League problems look set to be going from bad to worse. The 13-time winners of the competition are 2-0 down at home to Belgian outfit
Club Brugge!
The other game currently taking place sees Atalanta - playing their European home games at the San Siro - level with
Shakhtar Donetsk, with both sides having been on the end of heavy defeats on matchday one.
Real Madrid, by the way, have made two changes to their side at half time, and both are interesting ones. Marcelo has replaced Nacho, who seemed to have a slight injury, while Alphonse Areola has come on for Thibaut Courtois.
Los Blancos have made a purposeful start to the second half at the Bernabeu, as you would expect. Eden Hazard and co have found the Brugge defence in a very stubborn mood so far, though.
CHANCE! Oh my word, Brugge almost have a third and it is Emmanuel Dennis Bonaventure who comes close to completing his hat-trick! Sergio Ramos gives the ball away and the Brugge striker races through, turns Varane inside out but is then thwarted by a huge save from Areola - virtually his first action since coming on.
DISALLOWED GOAL! Real Madrid think they are back in it as Sergio Ramos nods the ball home from inside the box, but it looks as though it was offside! We go to VAR...
GOAL! REAL MADRID 1-2 CLUB BRUGGE (SERGIO RAMOS)
GOAL! No! The goal stands! That is a bizarre one - we can only assume that VAR has got the decision right, but from every angle we have seen so far Ramos looks like he is offside when the ball is hoisted into the area. Very interesting!
They have just shown a fresh angle of the VAR and Ramos was indeed onside, but it was a matter of milimetres. Ramos to the rescue for Real Madrid - how many times have we said that down the years?
It is still one-way traffic at the Bernabeu, with Lucas Vazquez the latest to come close, but while that match and Atalanta's clash with Shakhtar rumble on, let's have a look ahead to some of the Champions League 8pm kickoffs tonight.
TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR VS. BAYERN MUNICH"Spurs opened their Champions League Group B campaign with a 2-2 draw at Olympiacos on September 18. Last season's finalists led 2-0 inside 30 minutes before the home side hit back to claim a share of the spoils.
"As a result, there is pressure on the capital outfit to pick up three points against Bayern, who could seriously take charge of the section with a win on Tuesday night. These are the type of games that Tottenham dreamt of for many years, but the Bundesliga champions will travel full of purpose.
"There is no question that all is not well with Pochettino, and it will be very interesting to see how the story plays out over the next few months. Spurs face a tough trip to Brighton & Hove Albion in the league next weekend, while they will visit Liverpool before the end of next month.
"The likes of Christian Eriksen and Jan Vertonghen perhaps no longer want to be at the club, but Champions League nights are always special, particularly with the club facing Bayern for the first time in more than 35 years.
"Tottenham have won eight of their last 11 Champions League home matches, while they have been victorious in each of their four games versus German clubs home and away - all against Borussia Dortmund. The capital giants lost five times in last season's competition despite reaching the final, though, and face a tough task against Niko Kovac's team."

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR VS. BAYERN MUNICH"Bayern's Group B opener also brought a fairly comfortable three points as Kingsley Coman, Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Muller scored in a 3-0 home win. As a result, another victory for the German giants on Tuesday night would place them in a strong position at the top of the section.
"Bayern have won each of the last seven Bundesliga titles but have not lifted the European Cup since 2012-13, which is too long for a club of their ilk. They have actually only won the Champions League once since 2001, and it remains to be seen whether they are capable of challenging for this season's crown.
"This is actually Bayern's 23rd Champions League group campaign - they finished top of their section last season to advance to the round of 16, where they lost to eventual winners Liverpool. Der FCB have actually only won one of their last five games away to English clubs - losing twice in the process.
"Bayern are unbeaten in their last nine European away matches, however, and have kept a clean sheet in three of their last four on the road, which is an indication of the task facing Tottenham on Tuesday night.
"It has been a period of change for the club with the likes of Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery moving on at the end of last season. Holding off the challenge from the likes of Dortmund to win another Bundesliga title will be of paramount importance, but the Champions League is also so important to the club."

MAN CITY VS. DINAMO ZAGREB"For all their dominance of English football over the past couple of seasons, the Champions League is the one the Man City owners really want and their latest bid to claim that holy grail began in confident fashion in September.
"Riyad Mahrez, Ilkay Gundogan and Gabriel Jesus were all on the scoresheet in Ukraine as Pep Guardiola's charges made light work of a tricky-looking assignment, bouncing back in style from their shock defeat to Norwich City just a few days prior.
"The English champions have gone from strength to strength since with four successive wins across all competitions, scoring 17 goals and conceding just once in the process.
"Three more went in against Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday despite Guardiola resting the likes of Sergio Aguero, Bernardo Silva and David Silva, once again underlining the frightening strength in depth at City's disposal.
"Such luxuries come into particular focus with the pile-up of fixtures which come with competing on all fronts, although there are fewer options in City's injury-struck defence."

MAN CITY VS. DINAMO ZAGREB"This is a Dinamo side that shocked many by plundering four goals in what was their first Champions League outing for three years.
"Mislav Orsic's hat-trick inspired the Croatian outfit to a big win over tournament debutants Atalanta, firing Zagreb to the top of the group in the process after reaching the competition proper via the qualifying rounds.
"History suggests that result was an anomaly, though; Zagreb have failed to qualify from the group stage in all six of their previous Champions League outings and had lost 11 group games in a row - with just one win in 27 - prior to that triumph over Atalanta.
"Nenad Bjelica's side have also already lost as many league games this season as they did throughout the whole of last term, although they still sit joint-top and returned to winning ways in emphatic fashion with a 4-0 hammering of city rivals Lokomotiv Zagreb on Friday night.
"Indeed, it is now 11 goals without reply in their last two games and those recent exploits in front of goal will raise belief against a depleted Man City defence, although it is likely to be events at the other end of the field - where City have scored 17 goals in their last five Champions League games - which are their primary concern in this one."

JUVENTUS VS. BAYER LEVERKUSEN"Always among the favourites for Champions League glory, Juventus' recent record in the competition is actually fairly poor with just one win in their last six European outings and three defeats in their last six at home.
"Maurizio Sarri's side looked destined for a statement-making victory on matchday one when goals from Juan Cuadrado and Blaise Matuidi put them into a two-goal lead at the Wanda Metropolitano, only for Atletico to hit back with two goals in the final 20 minutes to rescue a draw.
"One point from what is likely to be their most difficult assignment of the group stage is by no means a bad result, though, and the Italian champions will expect to chalk up their first victory on Tuesday night.
"Juve have won all three of their matches since that Atletico draw, including a 2-0 triumph over SPAL on Saturday, and may even already have one eye on next weekend's top-of-the-table showdown with Inter Milan, who lead the way in Serie A with six wins from six.
"The Champions League is no place to take your eye off the ball, though, even for a team still unbeaten across all competitions this season as Juventus are."

GOAL! REAL MADRID 2-2 CLUB BRUGGE (CASEMIRO)
A nightmare minute for
Club Brugge, who had held on until the 85th minute but now find themselves right up against it! The Belgians have their captain sent off for a second bookable offence and then, from the resulting free kick, the ball is drifted into the box for Casemiro to nod home!
JUVENTUS VS. BAYER LEVERKUSEN"Leverkusen would need to pull off a major shock if they are to come away with anything from the Juventus Stadium, particularly following their own matchday one setback.
"The Bundesliga outfit were favourites going into their home match against Lokomotiv Moscow but slumped to a 2-1 defeat, following on from a 4-0 hammering at the hands of Borussia Dortmund four days earlier.
"Peter Bosz's side have since returned to winning ways, though, scoring five goals without reply in victories over Union Berlin and Augsburg, the latter of whom they beat 3-0 on Saturday.
"Champions League wins have been harder to come by - just two in their last 14 outings - although they did beat Juventus when they were paired together for the only previous time in 2001-02, a campaign which ended with Leverkusen reaching the final."
CHAMPIONSHIP KICKOFF! The five 7.45pm kickoffs in the Championship are all now underway, with the headline act a top-of-the-table contest between Leeds and West Brom at Elland Road. We will keep you abreast of all of the major events from those games in addition to the Champions League.
GOAL! ATALANTA 1-2 SHAKHTAR DONETSK (MANOR SOLOMON)
GOAL! Heart break for Atalanta as their home Champions League group-stage debut has surely ended in a last-gasp defeat at the hands of
Shakhtar Donetsk!
FULL TIME: REAL MADRID 2-2 CLUB BRUGGEThe Belgian outfit hold on for a famous result at the Bernabeu!
FULL TIME: ATALANTA 1-2 SHAKHTAR DONETSK
Atalanta's hopes of progressing from their first ever Champions League group stage look bleak, then, having lost against both
Dinamo Zagreb and Shakhtar in their opening two games - just a double-header against
Manchester City to come next!
Real Madrid have not fared much better in their group either - another hugely disappointing home result in Europe leaves them with only one point from their opening two group games, leaving them still joint-bottom of Group A alongside
Galatasaray, who host PSG tonight.
Right, it's almost time for kickoff in the 8pm Champions League games now! We will be putting particular focus on events at the
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but will keep you bang up to date with all the major news from around Europe.
KICKOFF: And we are off! Kickoffs around the continent - and in the two Championship 8pm games - as we get underway for the main bulk of tonight's action!
CHANCE! Far too easy for
Bayern Munich within two minutes of kickoff, and it is the former Arsenal man Serge Gnabry who threatens. He puts plenty of power behind his strike, but it is at a good height for Lloris, who parries it away.
CHANCE! Chance for Spurs to take an early lead against Bayern as Ndombele slides a lovely ball through for Son, who only has Neuer to beat but finds the German keeper in fine form, staying big to make a crucial stop.
It has been a good, open start to the game in North London, but there is a real dearth of goals about at the moment! None at all so far in seven Championship games and six in the Champions League!
A reminder of the big story so far tonight - Real Madrid being held at the Bernabeu by Club Brugge. Los Blancos rescued a point after being 2-0 down at half time, but it is still a hugely disappointing result for them...
SAVE! Son's pace gets him in behind the Bayern defence again here and Ndombele finds him with the pass, but once again Neuer is equal to his effort. Kane was across goal, but Son's attempt seemed to be halfway between a pass and a shot.
GOAL! TOTTENHAM 1-0 BAYERN MUNICH (SON HEUNG-MIN)
GOAL! READING 0-1 FULHAM (TOM CAIRNEY)
GOAL! Tottenham do get the early breakthrough! It is dreadful from Tolisso as he gives the ball away in a dangerous area, claiming for a free kick which is never going to arrive. Sissoko picks up the loose ball and plays it into Son, who does not squander a third chance with a firm low effort into the bottom corner! Neuer got a hand to it, but could not keep it out.
GOAL! TOTTENHAM 1-1 BAYERN MUNICH (JOSHUA KIMMICH)
GOAL! We have a game on our hands here! Kimmich levels the scores again within minutes of going behind, with Kimmich collecting the ball around 25 yards from goal, skipping away from one defender and then curling a beauty into the corner past the despairing dive of Lloris!
GOAL! JUVENTUS 1-0 BAYER LEVERKUSEN (GONZALO HIGUAIN)
CHANCE! It is non-stop action at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium here! Alli puts the ball forward and Neuer is in no-man's land, with Kane beating him to the ball and taking it around him. Neuer is scrambling and cannot prevent Kane from sliding the ball underneath him, but Alaba is back there to clear in front of an empty net.
RED CARD! JON SWIFT (READING)Things go from bad to worse for out-of-form Reading, who will have to play 70 minutes with 10 men after Jon Swift picked up a second yellow card in the opening 20. The Royal trail Fulham 1-0 at the Madejski.
Here is that Joshua Kimmich goal, which restored parity less than four minutes after Bayern had fallen behind.
GOAL! LEEDS 1-0 WEST BROM (GJANNI ALIOSKI)
A BIG goal at Elland Road as Leeds, struggling for form of late following their bright start to the season, take the lead against unbeaten Championship front-runners West Brom through Alioski!
GOAL! READING 0-2 FULHAM (ALEKSANDAR MITROVIC)
GOAL! MIDDLESBROUGH 0-1 PRESTON (JOSH HARROP)
CHANCE! Manuel Neuer is keeping Bayern Munich in this game right now! He has just made another fine save to deny Ndombele, although the midfielder perhaps should have scored at the end of a brilliant team move.
GOAL! READING 0-3 FULHAM (ALEKSANDAR MITROVIC)
GOAL! MIDDLESBROUGH 1-1 PRESTON (DARNELL FISHER OG)
It looks like it will be a long night for struggling Reading. They are down to 10 men and now three goals down at home to Fulham after just half an hour. Elsewhere, Middlesbrough have quickly hit back to restore parity against Preston.
The half-time whistles are going in the 7.45pm Championship games, although only a couple of those have goals so far with Fulham - 8pm starters against Reading - hogging most of them so far.
CHAMPIONSHIP HALF-TIME SCORESBlackburn 0-0 Nottingham Forest
Hull 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday
Leeds 1-0 West Brom
Middlesbrough 1-1 Preston
Wigan 0-0 Birmingham
GOAL! RED STAR BELGRADE 0-1 OLYMPIACOS (RUBEN SEMEDO)
GOAL! The first goal has gone in in the other game from Tottenham's group, and it is
Olympiacos, who came from two goals down against Spurs on matchday one, who get it through Ruben Semedo. As things stand that would leave Spurs third and two points behind Bayern and Olympiacos.
Bayern are just beginning to turn the screw in the closing stages of the first half at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The German giants have a free kick in a good position here, with Lewandowski standing over it...
The wall does not do its job at all as Lewandowski's effort gets through, but fortunately for the hosts it is not a great free kick and ends up comfortably wide.
GOAL! TOTTENHAM 1-2 BAYERN MUNICH (ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI)
GOAL! Bayern strike right at the end of the half, and it is their main man Lewandowski who gets it. The Pole produces an outrages piece of skill at the start of the move and then works hard to get back involved in play before turning on the ball and drilling a ruthless finish into the bottom corner. Brilliant from the striker.
HALF TIME: And that is half time at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium! The rest of the Champions League 8pm kickoffs soon follow going to the break, but the vast majority of the action has come in North London so far.
...meanwhile, we are getting back underway in the 7.45pm Championship kickoffs.
HALF-TIME CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SCORESGalatasaray 0-0 PSG
Juventus 1-0 Bayer Leverkusen
Lokomotiv Moscow 0-0 Atletico Madrid
Manchester City 0-0 Dinamo Zagreb
Tottenham 1-2 Bayern Munich
HALF-TIME CHAMPIONSHIP SCORESReading 0-3 Fulham
Stoke 0-0 Huddersfield
The world's best striker at the moment?
...and here is the goal which has given him those updated stats. An incredible finish on the turn from a man bang in form.
We are back underway for the 8pm kickoffs, and Bayern have made a change at the break with Alaba being replaced by Thiago.
GOAL! BLACKBURN 1-0 NOTTINGHAM FOREST (ADAM ARMSTRONG)
GOAL! LOKOMOTIV MOSCOW 0-1 ATLETICO MADRID (JOAO FELIX)
GOAL! Atletico Madrid have the lead in Moscow as they look to keep pace with Juventus in Group D, having come from two goals behind against the Italian giants on matchday one. Joao Felix - the man hailed as the next Cristiano Ronaldo - gets the goal.
GOAL! BLACKBURN 1-1 NOTTINGHAM FOREST (JOE LOLLEY)
GOAL! GALATASARAY 0-1 PSG (MAURO ICARDI)
GOAL! TOTTENHAM 1-3 BAYERN MUNICH (SERGE GNABRY)
GOAL! TOTTENHAM 1-4 BAYERN MUNICH (SERGE GNABRY)
GOAL! The former Arsenal man has come back to haunt Tottenham with two goals in as many minutes! The first is a stunning solo effort, racing down the left before coming inside and thumping his finish into the bottom corner. The second stems from Winks being caught in possession, but there is still a lot to do and Gnabry's finish is inch-perfect as he puts it in off the inside of the post!
Prior to that quick double for Bayern, PSG took the lead against Galatasaray in Istanbul, putting themselves on course to take complete control of that group after Real Madrid's dropped points earlier tonight.
GOAL! HULL 1-0 SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY (TOM EAVES)
PENALTY! PENALTY TO TOTTENHAM!
GOAL! LOKOMOTIV MOSCOW 0-2 ATLETICO MADRID (THOMAS PARTEY)
GOAL! TOTTENHAM 2-4 BAYERN MUNICH (HARRY KANE, PENALTY)
GOAL! WIGAN 1-0 BIRMINGHAM (ANTHONY PILKINGTON)
GOAL! JUVENTUS 2-0 BAYER LEVERKUSEN (FEDERICO BERNARDESCHI)
RED CARD! YASSINE BENZIA (OLYMPIACOS)
Where to start with that flurry of activity?! Spurs reduce the deficit back to two as Harry Kane tucks an inch-perfect penalty into the bottom corner after Rose had been felled inside the area - a soft one, but one VAR upheld after the on-field decision.
Elsewhere, Juventus and Atletico Madrid have both doubled their leads and Olympiacos are down to 10 against Red Star in a match they lead 1-0.
GOAL! RED STAR BELGRADE 1-1 OLYMPIACOS (MILOS VULIC)
GOAL! MANCHESTER CITY 1-0 DINAMO ZAGREB (RAHEEM STERLING)
GOAL! Finally a breakthrough for Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium! The English champions have had to wait until less than 25 minutes remaining, but Raheem Sterling has got the opener against a stubborn Dinamo Zagreb side!
GOAL! READING 0-4 FULHAM (TOM CAIRNEY)
Hard to argue with these stats...
Eriksen is now on for Spurs and has already come close with one superb long-range effort, but this time he puts his strike well off target from a similar distance.
FULL TIME: WIGAN 1-0 BIRMINGHAM
FULL TIME: BLACKBURN 1-1 NOTTINGHAM FOREST
FULL TIME: HULL 1-0 SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY
FULL TIME: LEEDS 1-0 WEST BROMA first league defeat of the season for West Brom, and one which sends Leeds back to the top of the Championship table with Forest only drawing against Blackburn!
GOAL! TOTTENHAM 2-5 BAYERN MUNICH (SERGE GNABRY)
GOAL! It is a hat-trick at Tottenham for the former Arsenal man Serge Gnabry! Again it is a clinical finish from the winger, who has been deadly tonight, and it comes at the end of another long spell of possession for Bayern - although the killer pass was a long way forward.
FULL TIME: MIDDLESBROUGH 1-1 PRESTON
GOAL! TOTTENHAM 2-6 BAYERN MUNICH (ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI)
GOAL! This is getting embarrassing for Spurs now! Bayern have a sixth, and it is another lovely finish. It stems from a poor pass from Alderweireld, but Bayern are deadly from there as Coutinho flicks it to Lewandowski, who passes it into the bottom corner.
GOAL! TOTTENHAM 2-7 BAYERN MUNICH (SERGE GNABRY)
GOAL! JUVENTUS 3-0 BAYER LEVERKUSEN (CRISTIANO RONALDO)
GOAL! RED STAR BELGRADE 2-1 OLYMPIACOS (NEMANJA MILUNOVIC)
GOAL! READING 1-4 FULHAM (YAKOU MEITE)
Last season's Champions League runners-up have just conceded a SEVENTH goal at home to Bayern Munich - and a fifth in the second half alone. Serge Gnabry has got four of those, and this is another brilliant finish. Plenty of these goals have stemmed from Tottenham errors, but credit must also go to Bayern as they have been clinical and ruthless.
GOAL! RED STAR BELGRADE 3-1 OLYMPIACOS (RICHMOND BOAKYE)
FULL TIME: TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR 2-7 BAYERN MUNICH
FULL TIME: JUVENTUS 3-0 BAYER LEVERKUSEN
A dark, dark night in the history of Tottenham Hotspur tonight. That were utterly humiliated by Bayern here and it will lead to more major questions being asked of Spurs...

Right, that is all we have time for tonight!
Thank you for joining Sports Mole for a remarkable night of Champions League action in which Tottenham Hotspur conceded seven goals in a home game for the first time in their entire history, with Bayern Munich the side to inflict such punishment.
Elsewhere there was a surprise draw between Real Madrid and Club Brugge, while PSG, Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Manchester City were amongst the winners this evening.
