Toby Alderweireld has acknowledged that Tottenham Hotspur must replicate their performance from last season's win over Ajax to overcome RB Leipzig in the Champions League last 16.
On Wednesday night, Timo Werner scored the only goal of the game as Leipzig won in North London, just like Ajax did in the semi-finals in April.
A week later, Spurs produced a stunning comeback to reach the final, and Alderweireld has called on his teammates to prove that the spirit shown during that display was not a one-off.
The Belgian is quoted by the Evening Standard: "We are still in it. Of course we wanted a better result, but we know we have the quality to win everywhere we want.
"Something we proved last season is that we can score everywhere. Of course we will need a little bit of luck, but it is the first half. The second half is yet to come.
"I think it was a difficult game. You can see they have a lot of quality. We stayed in the game and I think the second half was much better than the first. We were unfortunate that we could not score a goal. It is all to play for."
The second leg takes place in Germany on March 10.
