Harry Kane: 'Tottenham Hotspur favourites for Juventus tie'

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane believes that his side will be favourites to progress from their Champions League tie with Juventus following the 2-2 first-leg draw.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has warned his side that they will need to cope with the pressure of being favourites ahead of the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie with Juventus.

Spurs will take an away-goals advantage into Wednesday's Wembley showdown after fighting back from 2-0 down in the first leg in Turin to come away with a respectable 2-2 draw against the Italian champions.

The result means that a 0-0 or 1-1 draw would be enough to take Tottenham through to the quarter-finals, but Kane stressed the importance of going out to win the match.

"Probably we were not the favourites before but people are looking at us after that performance at Juventus and saying we should go through now. We have got to cope with that and see how we come through it. We know we played well out there and on another day we could have won but we are not getting carried away," he is quoted as saying by the Evening Standard.

"We know it is a big game. Champions League nights are what we all want to be involved in and this is a chance to get into the quarter-finals. Of course there will be a bit more added pressure and maybe more nerves, but that is why we play football. We made a big step in that aspect by what we did in the group stage, and now we have got to try and do it against the big teams consistently.

"We are in great form and have played against a lot of great teams recently and done well. It is important we carry that on. Going through will give us a lot more confidence. We have got to try and win the game. We know they need to score but we cannot go into the game with any negative thoughts.

"The way we play and the way the manager sets us up in every game, we are always on the front foot, always pressing, always playing attacking football. That is the way we play. We are going to try and win the game. If it gets to 80 minutes and it is still 0-0 then we might have a different approach but from the start we will press high and try to create as many chances as possible. We know it will be tough but we played well away from home and hopefully we can take it into this game."

Tottenham have only ever reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League on one previous occasion.
