Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has claimed that the travelling and number of fixtures the Europa League entails is a “nightmare”.
The Premier League side will be scheduled to play their European fixtures on Thursdays.
While Spurs will have to compete in League matches two to three days afterwards, Redknapp has insisted that they will give the continental tournament their “best shot”.
"The young lads will get plenty of games in the Europa League because, otherwise, I think it's a killer, to be frank," Redknapp told reporters.
"Thursday and Sunday every week, you've got no chance in the Premier with that. It kills you off, it's a nightmare.
"You have to go to crazy places, but we'll give it our best shot and just give it a go."
Spurs finished fifth in the Premier League last season to nab the Europa League spot ahead of Liverpool.
