Tottenham Hotspur have edged past Lyon in the last 32 of the Europa League with a dramatic 1-1 draw in France.
Moussa Dembele's late away goal for Spurs was enough to put them through with a 3-2 aggregate victory.
The home side took the lead in the 16th minute as Maxime Gonalons snuck forward at the near post to head in Clement Grenier's whipped free kick.
Spurs had the chance to grab an equaliser in first-half injury time, but Lewis Holtby's low drive was tipped onto the post by Remy Vercoutre.
Gareth Bale volleyed wide at the start of the second period before Grenier's effort was kept out by the legs of Brad Friedel.
Tottenham started to push hard for an away goal with 25 minutes left on the clock as Bale's fizzing drive forced Vercoutre into the save.
Clint Dempsey then headed over the crossbar before hitting an audacious drive well wide of the post.
With 20 seconds of normal time left on the clock, the visitors grabbed the vital away goal when Dembele hit a powerful strike from 20 yards past Vercoutre and into the far corner.
The win means that Spurs will now face Inter Milan in the last 16 of the competition.
