Spurs recover from a two-goal deficit to beat Burnley 4-2 and move into the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Tottenham Hotspur came from two goals down to beat Burnley 4-2 at White Hart Lane tonight and book their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

The third-round replay got off to a fine start as Marvin Sordell and Ross Wallace helped the visitors into a 2-0 lead inside eight minutes, before Paulinho reduced the arrears moments later.

Etienne Capoue completed the comeback on the stroke of half time, while Vlad Chiriches and Danny Rose saw the Lilywhites into the next phase with second-half goals.

Despite sitting some 11 places below their North London counterparts in the Premier League table, the Clarets raced out of the traps and boasted a two-goal lead inside eight minutes.

First, Sordell latched on to Kieran Trippier's ball before smashing past Michel Vorm, before Wallace's deflected free kick compounded Spurs' woes.

Punchdrunk Tottenham soon sprung to life, however, as Paulinho reduced the arrears by guiding Roberto Soldado's flick-on past Tom Heaton in what proved an explosive first 10 minutes.

Mauricio Pochettino's side continued on in the same vein in their bid for an equaliser, with Younes Kaboul going close with a half-volley, before Soldado headed against the bar from close range.

However, Capoue was on hand in the dying stages of the first half to smash home a Ben Davies cross as the hosts completed the comeback in timely fashion.

The Lilywhites retained that momentum after the break and gave Burnley a taste of their own medicine by netting twice early on to stun the visitors.

Chiriches rose highest to connect with Paulinho's corner and thump past Heaton, before Rose added a fourth on 52 minutes after tapping home Soldado's teasing ball from close range.

Despite their best efforts, Sean Dyche's side ultimately failed to reduce the arrears and the Londoners held on to their two-goal cushion to set up a clash with Leicester City.
