Manchester City team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Tottenham Hotspur

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester City's injury and suspension news ahead of Friday's FA Cup fourth round against Tottenham Hotspur.
Sports Mole

Manchester City return to action on Friday evening when they square off against Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup fourth round.

Pep Guardiola's side have been without a fixture since they recorded a dramatic 3-2 victory over Newcastle United in the Premier League on January 13.

Since then, City have spent time training in the Middle East ahead of their next batch of fixtures, but the likelihood is that they will still be without a number of key players for their trip to the capital.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man City's injury and suspension news ahead of a showdown with Spurs, who held them to a 3-3 draw in their most recent outing last month.

Erling Haaland

Status: Out
Type of injury: Foot
Possible return date: January 31 (vs. Burnley)

Erling Haaland has been absent from action since the start of December with a "bone stress reaction" in his foot. While Guardiola has confirmed that the Norwegian will remain absent for this game, he has insisted that he is 'on the verge of a return'.

Manuel Akanji

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: January 31 (vs. Burnley)

Manuel Akanji had to be substituted in the early stages of the clash with Huddersfield Town in the FA Cup on January 7 due to a knee problem. Guardiola has previously insisted that it will take "a few weeks" to recover, with the indication being that this game will come too soon.

MANCHESTER CITY'S SUSPENSION LIST

Man City have no suspended players for this match.
