Tottenham Hotspur team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Brighton & Hove Albion

Sports Mole rounds up Tottenham Hotspur's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their Boxing Day clash with Brighton & Hove Albion.

Tottenham Hotspur welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to North London on Boxing Day hoping to kick off a bumper day of action by closing the gap on the top four.

Jose Mourinho's side fell to a 2-0 defeat at home to Chelsea in the final Premier League game before Christmas to leave them six points adrift of the Blues in the Champions League race.

Spurs will be favourites to get back on track against a Brighton side with just one win in their last seven league outings, although that victory did come on their last visit to North London as they beat Arsenal.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Tottenham's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest.

Hugo Lloris

Status: Out
Type of injury: Elbow
Possible return date: Unknown

Spurs have been without their captain Hugo Lloris since the reverse fixture against Brighton, and the goalkeeper is still over a month away from a return, with February pencilled in.

Erik Lamela

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: December 28 (vs. Norwich)

Erik Lamela has not featured since October 22 and remains sidelined for this match, although the Argentine is not too far away from making his return.

Ben Davies

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: Unknown

Ben Davies has been absent since Mourinho's first game in charge, and no return date has yet been set after he underwent surgery for ankle ligament damage.

TOTTENHAM'S SUSPENSION LIST

Son Heung-min

Return date: January 5 (vs. Middlesbrough)

Spurs have appealed the red card shown to Son for his kick out at Antonio Rudiger, but if that is unsuccessful then the forward will miss the next three games.
