How Tottenham Hotspur could line up against Brighton & Hove Albion

Sports Mole looks at how Tottenham Hotspur could line up against Brighton & Hove Albion on Boxing Day, with Son Heung-min suspended for the hosts.

Tottenham Hotspur welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to North London on Boxing Day looking to return to winning ways following their defeat to Chelsea in the final Premier League match before Christmas.

Jose Mourinho was outfoxed by his former protege Frank Lampard to leave Spurs six points adrift of the Champions League places heading into the halfway point of the campaign.

Spurs will be wary of a Brighton side that has already beaten them convincingly this season too, but the capital outfit have not lost at home on Boxing Day since 1991.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how they could line up for Thursday's contest.

Out: Son Heung-min (suspended), Hugo Lloris (elbow), Erik Lamela (thigh), Ben Davies (ankle)
Doubtful: None

Spurs will be without Son Heung-min for this contest as the South Korean serves the first match of his suspension for kicking out at Antonio Rudiger during Sunday's defeat to Chelsea.

Tottenham have appealed the decision, but if that is unsuccessful then Son will miss the next three games, which is likely to give Christian Eriksen his first league starts of the Mourinho era.

The quick turnaround in fixtures means that we are now in peak rotation time, so there is a certain element of guesswork when it comes to predicting lineups, with Mourinho expected to shuffle his pack.

The likes of Danny Rose, Harry Winks and fit-again duo Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso could benefit from that, while Juan Foyth and Ryan Sessegnon provide other options.

Mourinho has already confirmed that there will be no rest for star striker Harry Kane over Christmas, though, and Dele Alli's recent form also means that he is likely to stay in the side.

Kane has scored seven goals in just four previous Boxing Day fixtures, leaving him just two short of Robbie Fowler's Premier League record for the date.

Captain Hugo Lloris remains sidelined after picking up his elbow injury in the reverse meeting with Brighton, while Erik Lamela and Ben Davies are also out.
