Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed that Jack Grealish will not feature against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend, but is hopeful that the midfielder will return soon.
The 26-year-old has missed the last two games against Norwich City and Sporting Lisbon with a shin injury, the same problem that he had last season with Aston Villa which forced him to miss 12 matches.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Guardiola said: "I'm not a doctor! The shin seems much less than he had last season but I don't know, I didn't talk to the doctor.
"We will see, but I think he will not be for tomorrow but hopefully the next weeks."
Guardiola also expressed his uncertainty over the availability of Gabriel Jesus and Cole Palmer, who have recently been sidelined with minor injuries.
The Citizens are training on Friday afternoon ahead of their Premier League clash with Spurs and the Spanish boss has been joking about the weather conditions, after their recent flight back from Lisbon was diverted from Manchester to Liverpool due to high winds.
"We are going to train now and we'll see how they are (Jesus and Palmer). Hopefully with the wind we cannot have players flying in the sky. We will see," Guardiola added.
Man City could maintain their nine-point cushion at the top of the table if they were to beat Tottenham on Saturday evening, but they could move further ahead if second-placed Liverpool were to drop points at home to Norwich. body check tags ::
