How Tottenham Hotspur could line up against Burnley

Sports Mole looks at how Tottenham Hotspur could line up in Monday's Premier League clash with Burnley.

Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to record their third Premier League win of the season when they travel to Turf Moor on Monday evening to face Burnley.

Spurs have picked up eight points from their first five league games of the campaign to occupy eighth spot in the table, and they threw away a three-goal lead to draw 3-3 with West Ham United last weekend.

Jose Mourinho's side will enter this match off the back of a victory, though, having opened their Europa League group-stage campaign with a 3-0 home success over LASK Linz on Thursday night.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Tottenham could line up in this fixture.

Out: Japhet Tanganga (thigh)
Doubtful: Eric Dier (hamstring)

Tottenham are in good shape at the moment in terms of injuries, with only Japhet Tanganga definitely out of this match as the defender battles a long-term thigh issue.

Eric Dier has not yet been officially ruled out, but it seems unlikely that the England international will be risked as he nurses the hamstring problem that has seen him miss the team's last two fixtures.

Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez should therefore continue as the two centre-backs, while Serge Aurier is expected to edge out Matt Doherty to feature as the right-back once again.

Harry Winks is expected to miss out on a spot in midfield with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Moussa Sissoko set to continue their partnership, with Tanguy Ndombele starting slightly further forward.

Gareth Bale is pushing for a start after appearing off the bench against West Ham and LASK, but Steven Bergwijn was not used on Thursday night, suggesting that the Netherlands international has been saved for this match, and he should start alongside Son Heung-min and Harry Kane in the final third of the field.

Ben Davies, meanwhile, could get the nod over Sergio Reguilon at left-back due to his superior defensive qualities.
