Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that Nacer Chadli will miss tomorrow's League Cup semi-final first leg against Sheffield United due to a family bereavement.
The midfielder has returned to his native Belgium and will remain unavailable for the game at White Hart Lane.
Meanwhile, Ryan Mason and Younes Kaboul are both back in contention following absences through injury and illness respectively.
"Nacer is back home," manager Mauricio Pochettino told reporters. "We send our condolences and hope to see him back soon. It's a sad situation. We send a hug for him and his family."
Chadli has scored nine goals in 26 games for Tottenham so far this season.
