Kyle Walker wary of Sheffield United threat

Kyle Walker warns Spurs to think again if they believe that League One side Sheffield United cannot eliminate them from the League Cup.

Kyle Walker has warned his Tottenham Hotspur teammates that their Capital One Cup semi-final tie with his boyhood club Sheffield United is far from a foregone conclusion.

Tottenham welcome the League One outfit to White Hart Lane tonight hoping to draw first blood in the two-legged clash ahead of potentially meeting Chelsea or Liverpool at Wembley.

The Premier League side are clear favourites to progress, but Walker, who rose through the ranks at Bramall Lane before joining Spurs in 2009, says that a tough 180 minutes lies ahead.

"It's such an important game, especially for me," he told Sky Sports News. "It's not going to be easy. Hopefully we can get a comfortable lead here because this is our patch, but we need to play the football we have been playing in recent weeks.

"It is going to be a far from easy tie, especially up at Bramall Lane. They will chuck everything at us up there. I have obviously supported the club since I was a boy and played for the club before I came here.

"I know their spirit and what the coaches will want. It's going to take a lot of hard work for us to get to Wembley."

Chelsea and Liverpool drew 1-1 in their first-leg affair at Anfield on Tuesday night.
