Tottenham Hotspur boss Nuno Espirito Santo has confirmed that Matt Doherty is set to make his return from injury in Wednesday's EFL Cup last-16 tie with Burnley.
The 29-year-old picked up a knock during the recent international break while representing the Republic of Ireland and has missed Spurs' last three games in all competitions.
Doherty has not been involved against Newcastle United, West Ham United or Vitesse in recent weeks, but Santo is confident that the right-back can play a part on Wednesday.
Speaking to reporters at a press conference, Santo said: "He's back in the group, that's good news. He's going to be in the squad, but it's up to us to decide the right moment to integrate all the players."
Doherty has only featured five times in all tournaments for Tottenham this season and boasts four assists from 34 games for the club in total.
The defender's return leaves Ryan Sessegnon as Spurs' only injury absentee for Wednesday's game, but Dele Alli has reportedly been left out of Santo's squad.
