Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Michel Vorm has claimed that home advantage will be vital when his side plays Brighton & Hove Albion in the League Cup tonight (Wednesday).
Spurs welcome the Championship strugglers to White Hart Lane with a place in the quarter-finals of the competition at stake.
After beating Nottingham Forest on home turf in the last round, Vorm believes that Tottenham can only benefit from being the hosts against Brighton this evening.
"We saw against Forest that it is not easy but it is an advantage to play at home, especially against teams from outside the Premier League," he told the club's official website.
"There are some tough opponents in the cup but if you are at home you have a chance to win these games. Brighton are a good side but at home, we will hope to win, especially with the fans behind us."
Tottenham are currently in 11th place in the Premier League table following two defeats in their last two matches.
