Tottenham Hotspur have granted striker Emmanuel Adebayor compassionate leave in order for him to return to Togo and sort out worrying family issues.
The 31-year-old revealed earlier this week that he has contemplated taking his own life in the past, following the high-profile breakdown in relationship with relatives in his home country.
Spurs have now taken the decision to grant the former Arsenal forward leave for the second time in the space of a year, meaning that he will miss the final game of the campaign away at Everton this coming weekend.
Adebayor, who has scored twice in 17 appearances for Tottenham this term, will also miss the post-season tour to Malaysia and Sydney.
