West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has praised Tim Sherwood's ability as coach ahead of this weekend's clash against Tottenham Hotspur.
The 45-year-old is expected to be replaced at White Hart Lane in the summer after taking over from Andre Villas-Boas in December.
However, Allardyce believes that Sherwood, who has questioned reports that Ajax boss Frank de Boer is poised to take over, is capable of leading Spurs forward.
"In Tim Sherwood's situation he's proven that he can handle the job and he's learning as he's going on," Allardyce told reporters. "Spurs have done well under him."
Tottenham have denied claims that they have made an official approach to De Boer.
