Tottenham Hotspur striker Jermain Defoe has revealed that he hopes to take his pre-season form into the new Premier League campaign.
The 30-year-old netted a hat-trick on Saturday as Spurs beat South China 6-0 in Hong Kong to claim third place in the Barclays Asia Trophy.
"In my experience over the years when you score goals they just keep coming," Defoe told the club's official website.
"It's important to have the confidence as a striker that when you get a chance, you believe you are going to score.
"Hopefully when the season starts I'll continue scoring. That would be great."
Spurs return to pre-season action on Wednesday when they travel to MK Dons.
