Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane earned another chapter in the record books with his goal against Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium.

The England captain scored his 94th Premier League away goal in the weekend's 3-2 defeat to Manchester United - equalling the long-standing record set by ex-Red Devil Wayne Rooney.

Kane set out to break the record when his side made the journey to the Amex Stadium but spurned a magnificent early opportunity to do with the goal at his mercy after robbing Robert Sanchez of the ball.

However, after Cristian Romero had opened the scoring in unorthodox fashion, a sweeping Spurs counter-attack ended with Kane slotting home in front of the away end.

Kane has now set a new record of 95 away goals in the Premier League, and he now has 178 in total in the competition - surpassing Frank Lampard into fifth place in the all-time charts.

Kane is now just six off equalling Sergio Aguero's 184, while nine more will see him go level with Andy Cole's 187. body check tags ::
