Harry Kane: 'I cannot thank Mauricio Pochettino enough'

Harry Kane claims that Tottenham Hotspur teammate Harry Winks stood out in England's win over Lithuania, as he heaps praise on 'world's best manager' Mauricio Pochettino.

England and Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has insisted that he owes a lot to club boss Mauricio Pochettino for 'showing a lot of belief' in younger players.

The 24-year-old took his tally for the season to 14 goals in 12 games by scoring from the spot in the Three Lions' 1-0 win over Lithuania on Sunday evening.

Kane skippered his national side at the LFF Stadium in a match that saw clubmate Harry Winks feature from the off, making it 15 Premier League players to have made their England bow under the management of Pochettino.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, Kane said: "It shows Mauricio's one of the best managers in the world, if not the best. He brings players through, gives them chances on the big stage and they deliver for him.

"We can't thank him enough for that. He deserves all the credit. He helped us get to where we are now, and Harry is another player under his management.

"I thought [Winks] played really well tonight. He was probably one of the best players on the pitch. He deserves it. He's come in and worked hard. I'm delighted for him and his family should be very proud."

England return to action in November with a couple of home friendlies against Germany and Brazil.
