Ryan Mason has said that it was "unbelievable" to make his international debut for England in their friendly against Italy last night.
The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, who was called up to replace the injured Adam Lallana, came off the bench in the 1-1 draw in Rome.
The 23-year-old told his club's website: "The occasion was full of joy and excitement really. I was desperate to get on and when the gaffer gave me the heads-up that I was coming on I was a little bit nervous, but it was still the best feeling I've ever experienced.
"It's a dream come true to represent your country and it was great to have three of our other lads on the pitch together when I got my chance. That made it that extra bit special.
"It's been a crazy season for me and to top it off with an England cap is unbelievable."
Mason's Tottenham teammate Andros Townsend scored the equaliser for England after Graziano Pelle had put the home side in front.
