Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has challenged the club to match his own ambitions in the transfer market this summer.
Spurs cemented a fifth-placed finish in the Premier League thanks to a 1-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park.
Liverpool's 6-1 humiliation at the hands of Stoke City meant that Pochettino's side leapfrogged the Reds on the final day, and the former Argentina defender has targeted an assault on the Champions League spots next term.
He told reporters: "For us next season, we will try to improve our squad and fight from the beginning of the season for the top four. It is a difficult thing, but we need to be ambitious.
"[The win means] we go straight to the [Europa League] groups, so we have more time to prepare for the season. To finish above Liverpool, Southampton and Everton is a very good thing for Tottenham."
Pochettino joined Spurs from Southampton last year.
