Harry Redknapp has refused to answer Steven Gerrard's call of naming the Tottenham Hotspur players who did not want to play for England during his time at White Hart Lane.
The now-Queens Park Rangers manager revealed at the weekend that "two or three" internationals within the Spurs squad approached him in a bid to get out of playing for their country.
Three Lions captain Gerrard described the attitude of those players as "disgusting" and urged Redknapp to name and shame.
"I understand Steven's concern, but I don't want to get into naming names because it wouldn't be fair to the players," Redknapp told the Daily Mail.
"Every Premier League manager past and present knows what I'm talking about, probably even [England boss] Roy Hodgson, but sadly this attitude is not unusual these days."
England will play Group D opponents Costa Rica this evening before heading back to the UK after failing to progress into the knockout rounds of the World Cup in Brazil following two consecutive defeats.
