Tottenham Hotspur have wasted no time in getting down to business in the summer transfer window, with Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster already joining the club on free transfers.
The two veterans will provide some much-needed experience for the Champions League contenders, but Antonio Conte will be expecting a wealth of new faces through the door in the coming weeks.
Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest Tottenham transfer news, including updates on Lucas Paqueta, Owen Wijndal and Milan Skriniar.
Tottenham to hijack Newcastle's Paqueta move?
Lyon's 2021-22 season was largely a forgettable affair for players and fans alike, but one playmaker stood out head and shoulders above the rest for Les Gones.
Lucas Paqueta amassed nine goals and six assists in 35 Ligue 1 appearances for Lyon, as well as scoring twice and setting up one more in nine Europa League games, and he demonstrated his versatility in the final third too.
The 24-year-old would often be deployed as the number 10 or at the tip of the attack, and he has been expected to follow former Gones teammate and compatriot Bruno Guimaraes to Newcastle United this summer.
However, football.london, via Chronicle Live, states that Tottenham could attempt to hijack the Magpies' move for Paqueta, whose contract at the Groupama Stadium still has three years left to run.
A fee of €80m (£68m) may be required to prise Paqueta away from Lyon, where he has spent the last two years since joining from AC Milan in an £18m deal.
Contact made over Owen Wijndal
The left-wing back area proved to be a sticky point for Conte last season, as Ryan Sessegnon and Sergio Reguilon were both bedevilled by injuries alongside emergency backup Matt Doherty.
The arrival of Perisic has seemingly rectified those problems, but Conte is still said to be keen to bolster his wing-back ranks further given their importance in his system.
According to Footmercato, Tottenham have now opened discussions over a deal for AZ Alkmaar defender Owen Wijndal, who captained the Dutch outfit throughout the most recent Eredivisie season.
Wijndal scored one goal and provided 10 assists in 31 top-flight appearances last season, although Spurs could be forced to bat away interest from Lyon, Juventus and Napoli.
The 22-year-old has a contract with AZ until the summer of 2024 and has also registered three assists in 11 appearances for the Dutch national team.
Milan Skriniar blow
Tottenham have been raiding the Serie A market like nobody's business since Conte and Fabio Paratici arrived at the club, and that theme is likely to continue throughout the summer.
A new centre-back is thought to be high on Tottenham's priority list, but a move for Inter Milan's Alessandro Bastoni is seemingly off the cards for now.
Conte has been tipped to reunite with another one of his Nerazzurri Scudetto winners in Milan Skriniar this summer, with the Slovakia international out of contract in 2023 and Inter desperately needing to raise funds.
However, a report from Gianluca Di Marzio states that Paris Saint-Germain are making the most progress in negotiations for the 27-year-old, while Chelsea still hold an interest too.
Skriniar made 32 appearances for Inter under Conte during their 2020-21 Serie A-winning campaign and has amassed a total of 11 goals and four assists in 215 matches for the Italian giants.
