Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has revealed that he is looking to bring in a midfielder before the end of the transfer window.
The future of playmaker Luka Modric is still yet to be resolved, but should the Croatian depart it will leave Spurs with a gap to fill in the middle.
However, Villas-Boas has made it clear that he is looking to sign a midfield player in the coming days.
"The market can be frenetic in the last few days so anything can happen," Sky Sports News quotes Villas-Boas as saying.
"We are still looking to strengthen our squad with a midfielder so let's do the deals that we have to do."
Spurs have started the season with just one point from their opening two games.
