Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly hoping to recoup as much as £40m after the sale of Dele Alli to Everton.

The Toffees saw off late attention from Newcastle United to secure the transfer of the England international late on Monday night.

According to several reports, the playmaker has effectively moved to Merseyside on a free transfer, with Everton obligated to pay a number of performance-related add-ons.

According to Sky Sports News, they have the potential to reach £40m if the 25-year-old excels during his stay at his new club.

Alli, who has penned a two-and-a-half-year contract, has contributed just two goals from 17 appearances in all competitions this season.

Donny van de Beek also left Manchester United to make the switch to Everton on deadline day. body check tags ::
