Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes has reportedly urged his club to allow him to join Tottenham Hotspur before the English transfer window closes at the end of next week.
Fernandes has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.
Manchester United were thought to lead the race for the 24-year-old, but it is understood that the Red Devils value the Portugal international at around £35m while Sporting are looking for closer to £64m.
Tottenham have also been credited with an interest, and according to the Daily Mail, Fernandes has told Sporting that he wants to complete a move to Mauricio Pochettino's side next week.
The report claims that the midfielder held talks with Sporting president Federico Varandas on Friday to signal that he wanted to leave for the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Real Madrid have also recently been credited with an interest in the former Boavista youngster, who scored 31 times at club level during the 2019-20 campaign.
