Lyon have reportedly entered advanced negotiations over a deal to re-sign Tanguy Ndombele from Tottenham Hotspur.
The Frenchman arrived in North London in a £54m deal from Les Gones back in the summer of 2019 but has failed to make his mark at the club under numerous head coaches.
Paris Saint-Germain were originally thought to have been at the head of the queue for Ndombele's signature, but a move supposedly broke down over PSG's failure to offload a midfielder.
Now, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that the Spurs outcast is now closing in on a return to Lyon, with talks between the two parties now at an advanced stage.
Romano adds that Lyon want to include an option rather than an obligation to buy in the deal, and Ndombele is thought to be desperate to end his Tottenham nightmare this month.
The 25-year-old has not played in the Premier League since Boxing Day and was left out of the squad entirely for clashes with Leicester City and Chelsea earlier in January.
Ndombele has two goals and an assist to his name from 16 games in all tournaments this term and is not due to become a free agent until 2025. body check tags ::
