Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has reportedly decided to use Karim Benzema in any deal to try to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur.
In recent weeks, Real have been heavily linked with a move for the free-scoring Spurs forward, who has netted 15 goals in 15 games for club and country this season.
The Premier League side have no intention of entertaining any bid for their star man but according to El Gol Digital, Perez is ready to try to tempt the North London outfit into a sale.
Real would allegedly be expected to put together a deal worth £180m, but Perez would prefer to offer Benzema in part-exchange to bring down the fee to approximately £108m.
Benzema only penned a four-year deal in September but with the striker turning 30 in December, Real are already looking for a long-term replacement for the French international.
Real boss Zinedine Zidane recently described Kane - who helped Spurs draw 1-1 at the Bernabeu on Tuesday night - as the "complete player".
