Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly identified Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale as a potential summer signing.
Despite contributing 102 goals from 227 appearances during a six-year stay at the Bernabeu, Bale is free to join another club, providing that they can come up with an acceptable offer.
Real have allegedly been struggling to attract any interest in the Wales international, who commands a big wage packet at Los Blancos.
Nevertheless, Marca claims that Spurs are considering an approach for their former player, while being willing to secure his signature on a permanent basis.
The report says that Spurs are prepared to pay up to £54m for Bale, as long as Real are prepared to contribute to his wages for the next three years.
There have been previous suggestions that the attacker has little interest in a return to the Premier League, although any offer is likely to be considered by the 29-year-old.
