Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa could reportedly go head-to-head for the signature of Leicester City attacker Harvey Barnes during this summer's transfer window.

The 25-year-old has had another productive campaign for the Foxes on a personal level, scoring 10 goals and registering three assists in 36 appearances in all competitions.

All 10 of the forward's goals this term have come in the Premier League, but a disappointing campaign has left Leicester facing the possibility of being relegated to the Championship.

Dean Smith's side are currently on 30 points from 34 matches, only ahead of 18th-placed Nottingham Forest on goal difference, with a number of sides involved in a fierce relegation battle.

James Maddison will allegedly leave the King Power Stadium this summer even if Leicester avoid being relegated, and Barnes is another Foxes player being strongly linked with an exit.

According to the Daily Mail, a number of Premier League sides are tracking the attacker, with the strongest interest currently arriving from Tottenham and Villa.

The report claims that Leicester valued Barnes at £60m last summer when Newcastle United approached the club to discuss a possible move to St James' Park.

Smith's side are in a strong position when it comes to the Englishman's future, as he still has another two years left to run on his contract at the King Power Stadium.

Barnes joined Leicester's academy system at the age of nine, progressing through the various youth sides at the club before making his first-team debut in December 2016 against Porto in the Champions League.

The forward spent time on loan with MK Dons, Barnsley and West Bromwich Albion before becoming a regular for Leicester, and he has now represented the Foxes on 183 occasions in all competitions.

Barnes has made 142 appearances in the Premier League, scoring 32 goals and registering 25 assists, while he has experience in the Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League.

The attacker has also been capped by England, with his only appearance for the national side coming against Wales in a friendly towards the end of 2020.

Leicester have drawn their last two league games against Leeds United and Everton, and the team will be bidding to return to winning ways when they travel to Fulham on Monday afternoon.

Tottenham and Villa are currently in a battle for European spots, meanwhile, with the former sitting seventh, level on points with eighth-placed Villa on the same number of games (34).
