Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Roma defender Chris Smalling.
Since joining the Italian club from Manchester United in 2020, the 33-year-old has established himself as a key figure in Roma's side, making 117 appearances and contributing with 10 goals and four assists.
Although he has started 19 of Roma's 21 games this season, his current contract expires at the end of the season.
While Smalling is reportedly keen to remain with Jose Mourinho's side, it is currently unclear whether Roma will offer him a new contract, with the player believed to be asking for an improved two-year deal.
According to Sky in Italy, Tottenham are considering a move for the centre-back, as Antonio Conte looks to strengthen his defence.
If Smalling does leave Roma then Spurs could face competition for his signature, with Inter Milan and Juventus also believed to be interested in the experienced defender. body check tags ::
