Zenit St Petersburg head coach Andre Villas-Boas has reportedly made Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen one of his top transfer targets.
Villas-Boas was sacked by Spurs in December, but is believed to be interested in doing business with his former club as he looks to bring a central defender to Russia.
According to The Express, the Portuguese coach will advise the club's hierarchy to make a bid for the Belgian defender in the summer.
Vertonghen hinted earlier in the campaign that a lack of Champions League football could see him leave White Hart Lane at the end of the season.
Spurs are currently sixth in the Premier League.
