Former Queens Park Rangers defender Steve Wicks believes that his old club should try to sign Michael Dawson in the January transfer window.
The Hoops were strongly linked with a move for the Tottenham Hotspur centre-back in the summer, but a switch failed to materialise.
However, Wicks feels that new boss Harry Redknapp will be handed a transfer warchest next month, and that he should target Dawson.
"I just wish we'd signed Michael Dawson in the summer. He was the player we've missed this season," Wicks told talkSPORT.
"I think QPR need a centre-back, an experienced defender that's going to organise at the back.
"Harry Redknapp will get money to spend in January. Tony Fernandes (QPR chairman) has really backed the club, he's put millions in and I think he's desperate to stay in the Premier League. Harry will definitely get handed a warchest with a few quid in it."
QPR secured their first Premier League win of the season when they beat Fulham 2-1 at Loftus Road on Saturday.
