Stoke City defender Robert Huth has picked up a calf injury.
The German has only recently returned to fitness following a lengthy stint on the sidelines with a knee complaint, and he was expected to feature in the League Cup against Southampton tomorrow night.
However, Stoke's assistant manager Mark Bowen has revealed that the centre-back could now be out of action "for a couple of weeks".
"We've had a problem with Robert Huth. He trained yesterday and had a problem with his calf and has gone for a scan," Bowen is quoted as saying by The Sentinel.
"It might put him out for a couple of weeks. He's been patient waiting for his chance and it might have been a chance for him to go in tomorrow, but now he's got a pretty bad calf problem. He finished the session and walked in and said his calf was really sore."
Huth, 30, has made just two appearances for the Potters this season.
