Stoke City boss Mark Hughes has revealed that a thigh injury will keep experienced defender Glen Johnson on the sidelines for the next "three to four weeks".
The full-back was handed a call-up to Gareth Southgate's first England squad earlier this month, but had to pull out of the selection for the matches against Malta and Slovenia after picking up a thigh problem.
Speaking ahead of Stoke's Premier League clash with Sunderland this weekend, Hughes has ruled the 32-year-old out of action until next month.
"Glen Johnson will be out with a thigh problem after picking it up in training. It looks like it'll be three to four weeks," Hughes told reporters.
Johnson, whose last England cap came in 2014, joined Stoke from Liverpool in the summer of 2015.
