Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has confirmed that he will make a late decision on whether or not to include Xherdan Shaqiri in this Saturday's squad to face Aston Villa.
The Switzerland international suffered a thigh muscle injury during the Potters' 2-1 victory over Bournemouth last weekend.
"We will have to see how he is over the coming hours, because he hasn't trained with the group yet this week," the Welshman told Stoke City Player. "He will go home and rest now and hopefully he can come in tomorrow and join in the session with the rest of the lads.
"If he does that, and suffers no affects from it, then he will certainly be in my thoughts. If not then we won't take any chances."
Stoke are currently two points above the relegation zone.
