Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has revealed that defender Ryan Shawcross is likely to miss the club's trip to Burnley on Saturday afternoon.
Earlier this week, Shawcross, who has made 35 appearances in all competitions this season, suffered a knee problem in training, and Hughes has admitted that it will probably keep him out of their penultimate game of the season at Turf Moor.
The 51-year-old told reporters: "Unfortunately, we have a concern with Ryan and as it stands at the moment, it is very unlikely that he will be in the squad on Saturday.
"He tweaked his knee on Tuesday and hasn't been able to fully train since, so we will have another look at him before we travel.
"We are hoping he will be ok for Liverpool next week, but in terms of Saturday, I would suggest it is very unlikely."
Stoke will achieve their highest ever points total in the top flight should they earn a positive result in the North-West.
