Stoke City goalkeeper Shay Given has praised teammate Jack Butland for his performances with the club this season, adding that he will be competing against Joe Hart for the England goalkeeper jersey in the future.
The 22-year-old became the Potters' first-choice stopper this summer following Asmir Begovic's transfer to Chelsea, and he has had an impressive season under boss Mark Hughes.
Given told BBC Sport: "Jack Butland has been our player of the season, so consistent. He's only 22 and very young in goalkeeper terms. He has 18 years on me. He has a huge future and he's good competition for Joe Hart in the England team."
Butland has kept three clean sheets in 12 Premier League games, including against champions Chelsea.
