Stoke City's Mark Hughes "pleased" with Hull City draw

Mark Hughes says that he is "pleased" with Stoke City's goalless draw at Hull City in the Premier League on Saturday.

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has hailed his side's performance during their goalless draw with Hull City in the Premier League on Saturday.

Hughes believes that his team had the better opportunities at the KC Stadium and is "pleased" with his players' effort.

"In terms of controlling the game, I think we were the side that demonstrated that more than Hull, and in terms of clear-cut chances we had better opportunities," he told Sky Sports News.

"We just needed to take one of them and I think that would have been enough to win the game tonight. But I am pleased enough with the performance. Any points away from home are gladly received, and the only frustration is maybe that we haven't taken maximum points because of the chances we created.

"In fairness, the keeper played very well for them and made some outstanding saves, but the game itself I felt were totally in control of. I never really felt we came under any concerted pressure from Hull, and as the away team I am pleased with that."

Stoke are currently 13th in the league table with 18 points from 16 matches.
