Mark Hughes has claimed that he is pleased with how his Stoke City team are finishing the campaign.
The Potters secured their fifth win from their last seven outings in the 1-0 victory over Newcastle United at the Britannia Stadium.
"We're pleased with what we're producing at the moment. We wanted to win because we're trying to catch Newcastle," he told BBC Sport.
"I felt the performance was good. We restricted Newcastle to few clear opportunities."
Erik Pieters's 42nd-minute strike proved enough to down the Magpies and take Stoke to within three points of Alan Pardew's men.
