Marc Muniesa has insisted that he is "comfortable" playing centre-back for Stoke City following a string of injuries at the position.
Robert Huth and Dionatan Teixeira have both missed time this season, while Marc Wilson was forced off early at the weekend, sending the Spaniard back alongside Ryan Shawcross.
The 22-year-old told the Stoke Sentinel: "I've always said I feel more comfortable playing at centre-back because that's where I always played when I was at Barcelona.
"I don't think my size is a problem. If you look at Barca they played [Gerard] Pique and Puyol. Puyol was shorter than Pique and they made a really good partnership, it's not a problem.
"I have one set of characteristics and Ryan Shawcross has another and I think together we can work very well."
Muniesa has mainly played as a full-back since joining Stoke in 2013.
