Stoke City defender Ryan Shawcross has admitted that he was delighted to keep Diego Costa quiet in his side's 1-0 victory over Chelsea at the Britannia Stadium.
The 28-year-old limited the Blues forward to just one opportunity at goal, which was saved by Jack Butland in the first half.
Stoke condemned Chelsea to their seventh defeat of the season as Marko Arnautovic scored the only goal of the game in the second half to hand Mark Hughes's side the win.
Shawcross told Sky Sports News: "Diego Costa gets in your face, he wants to bully you so you have to stand up to him. He is a fantastic player who plays close to the line, so to keep him quiet is fantastic.
"We have a fantastic spirit and a good team now. Look how many Champions League winners' medals we've got in the squad now."
Stoke moved up to 12th place in the Premier League as a result of their win.
