Stoke City have launched an appeal against the red card that was handed to Rory Delap during yesterday's FA Cup tie at Crawley Town.
Delap was given his marching orders by referee Mike Jones for a challenge on Crawley defender David Hunt.
However, after studying video footage, Stoke have decided to lodge an appeal with the Football Association against the decision.
The Potters now have 24 hours to present their evidence to the FA.
Should the appeal fail, Delap will serve a three-match suspension.
