Stoke City manager Tony Pulis admitted that he was "disappointed" that Bolton Wanderers were relegated from the Premier League following Sunday's 2-2 draw at the Britannia Stadium.
Despite Queens Park Rangers' defeat at Manchester City, the Trotters needed a win to secure their top-flight status for another season.
"I'm disappointed for Owen [Coyle] and Bolton," Pulis told reporters. "It's a reminder to everyone in this league that you have to keep pushing on, it's such a tough league."
Stoke's 14th-placed finish is their lowest final standing during the four years that they have been in the Premier League.
